Work With Us

To work for Yappy Days Doggy Day Care you will need to be a committed, responsible and reliable dog lover, who is presentable with good communication skills.

You must love dogs and enjoy working indoors and outdoors, in all weathers.  Previous experience of working with animals is not essential.

Our goal as a business is to deliver the best customer experience in the Australian dog day care market. To achieve this we need to have the best people and be the best workplace in our industry.

Apart from the obvious perk of working with dogs and very friendly customers, our salaries are generous and loyalty is rewarded. To keep spirits high, we have weekly perks for the team and regular social outings, because it’s our team that sets us apart from the rest..

Doggy Supervisor

You will be working in a team to supervise the dogs at the day care centre. This role involves bonding with the dogs, taking the dogs for walks within the day centre, playing games to stimulate the dogs, feeding puppies, and helping with general cleaning of the day care centre.

Please note, this is NOT a full time role; 25 hours per week is the maximum. You will need to be available to work from Monday to Friday between 9:00am – 3pm. You will be asked to sign a contract for a minimum of six months so please don't apply if you can't commit to this length of time. All applicants must be 18 or over for insurance purposes

Cover Driver

This role combines the doggy supervisor and driver jobs. When one of the drivers is sick or on holiday, the cover driver fills in for them and drives their route, collecting and dropping off the dogs from the owners’ homes. During those times when no cover is needed (totalling around 6 months of the year), the cover driver works as a doggy supervisor. The hours vary from 25 - 45 hours per week and the rate of pay is higher than that of a doggy supervisor.

This is a varied role that requires a presentable, articulate and adaptable individual who enjoys variety, loves dogs, can think on their feet and is happy to spend some of their days driving a van. We provide thorough training and support so previous experience as a full time driver is not essential.

Weekend dog walker

This involves going to a client's home to look after their dog for 2 - 4 hours, take the dog for a walk, play with them, feed them and keep them company. If you work full time during the week but would love some dog time on the weekend, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy the company of dogs without the commitment of owning one.

We only accept friendly, social dogs; and you can pick and choose which dogs to accept based on your preferences. You will need your own vehicle, must have owned a dog and must be happy for us to undertake a Criminal Record Check.

Do you see yourself working with dogs ?

If working with dogs, especially small dogs, is your gig then let us know - you dont need qualifications, but experience as a small dog owner would go a very long way.

Simply email a cover letter with name, age, and experience with dogs to yappydaysrockingham@gmail.com and we will be in touch.
